Toronto West / Mississauga East | Baby Jeremy
Ohhhhh newborns! They are absolutely my favorite part of my job. I delight in the chance to hold these little creatures, so precious and sweet and innocent now that mine are past that newborn/baby stage and don't want to be cuddled as much. Newborn sessions always require a lot of time and patience. Sometimes it can take hours for them to fall asleep, which is one of the reasons I love capturing all those moments before and in between newborn portraits--those precious mome

Could a little guy be more loved? It was clear after only a few minutes of meeting this couple that their little guy is the centre of their world. So I was delighted to capture this stage in life for them. Oh, how keenly I remember this age--when the simpliest pleasures are grass on your toes and reading books with mom and dad. The light was beautiful in the park Saturday evening. And it was full of people enjoying the warm weather, which seems to be the trademark of the

Toronto West / Mississauga East Photographer | A Favorite Spot on the Credit River
Often when I am photographing families, I choose the location. I know the light, I know the best spots at what time of day. But let's face it, Toronto hasn't been home for a long time. There are plenty of beautiful places in this city and around that I don't yet know about. So when a family suggests a place that has special meaning to them, I'm game to give it a try! And did they ever pick a good one! There is just something so beautiful and calming about water. I know

Toronto West / Mississauga East Photographer | Lovely on the Lakeshore
Is it really Fall yet? It still feels like Summer out there! And looks like it too. This morning, I spent some more time down on the Lakeshore photographing this beautiful family. They came to the shoot all calm and sat nicely. The kids were so great to photograph--smiley and happy. They sure had some fun energy as time went on and a little bit of silliness from too. But that's what makes for some good smiles, doesn't it? Isn't this little guy so dapper in his cute lit

Toronto West / Mississauga East Photographer | The Prettiest Little Garden with a most Beautiful Fam
Today was one of those golden days. The weather was perfect and the location was stunning--a gorgeous, private garden on Lake Ontario with stone walkways and pristine flower beds, a big weeping willow and a pond full of ducks. I could have spent hours there just taking it all in. And then along comes this beautiful family I am photographing--the sweetest little blonde girls all dressed up in pink and gold and white with their darling gold little shoes. (I mean, come on!!!

Toronto West / Mississauga East Photographer | Photography for Heroes
I tend to get a lot of requests for photography for little girls. Girls in tutus and pink and pearls. And I love it. But I am also the mama of a boy. A boy who is rough and tumble, loves dirt and trucks and trains and airplanes. A boy who's latest obsession is "Lightening McQueen." And so for all those kinds of boys out there, here is a little post to you, all you heroes disguised as three and four and five year old boys. Boys who love making up stories about Octopus ma

I love my job. I love photographing children. Why? Because they always bring such energy to a shoot and natural smiles. Sure, they can be shy, or not want their photo taken, but that's natural and honest I think. It's always fun coming up with ideas to get children running around and laughing and smiling and playing. and I always try to get them to forget about the camera. I never tell them to smile and say cheese (well, almost never). I just talk to them or play with

Toronto West / Mississauga East Photographer | An Early Surprise
Baby L came a month early surprising everyone and had to spend a couple of weeks in the NICU. A month later, when he was supposed to be born he's still tiny and newborn looking and sleepy. In fact he slept for almost the entire four hours I was photographing him. He is incredibly handsome and adored by his big sister who smiled and kissed him and didn't want to miss a moment of photographing him. Here he is! #photo

Toronto West / Mississauga East Photographer | Evening Light on the Lakeshore
Spent the evening yesterday with these two lovelies (and their parents) running around the Lakeshore at Humber Lake Shores exploring some of their favorite little spots. One of my favorite times to photograph is in the early evening, when the light is glowy and beautiful and the shadows are long and soft. It is the perfect time to capture little people as they try to outrun the setting of the sun. As the late afternoon turned to early evening, we looked for snakes and snail
