- Toronto West / Mississauga East Newborn Photographer: Baby sister at 15 days
I was so delighted to hear from this family after six years! We have been following each other on instagram since we met and I photographed their first maternity and newborn session so I was excited to see how much their first had grown and hold/photograph the newest addition. At 15 days old, baby sister was more alert but managed to be coaxed to sleep with some extra feeding, burping and lots of poops. See even gave us a smirk! I couldn't believe how much baby sister looked like her older sister. (I've added a few down for you to see their likeness). So many adorable dimples!! Here are some photos we took together when they were expecting their first baby girl. It feels like ages ago since that maternity shoot in High Park on a warm summer evening. Baby girl arrived a month later....
- Toronto West / Mississauga East Photographer: Headshots for Susan J Talent Modelling and Acting
As a former teacher, I love working with youth and getting to know them. This is all part of the process for photographing--engaging with youth and allowing their personalities to shine for the camera by talking about who they are and what they love. Here is some headshots of the young talent in the Toronto area!
- Toronto West / Mississauga East Maternity Session: Dominican in Canada
I met Isabel (a Dominican who moved to Canada) and Jordan in a tree farm in Egbert this fall to announce to the world they were expecting a baby! I met them and immediately felt the connection they had to each other and just absolutely loved spending time with them. It has been such an honour of photographing couples and families sent to my by the "Dominican in Canada" group that I thought it deserved a special recognition. I met my first Dominican couple for their maternity session in 2017. They were so lovely, friendly, warm and sincere and upon hearing we were travelling to the Dominican Republic that spring, they gave me a list of all sorts of things to do and places we should go. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and came back with a deep appreciation of the people and the culture. It has since been one of my children's favourite trips. So to meet with more and more Dominicans here in Toronto, who have all been connected to this wonderful group, has been a pleasure. They care for and support each other and refer businesses such as mine to each other. It's a real sense of community and I feel honoured to be connected to them. Back to Isabel and Jordan, now counting down the weeks until baby girl arrives! We had a lot of fun being creative and innovative. I loved working with their positive energy--such a cheerful, positive couple. Can't wait to meet baby girl! xo
- Toronto West / Mississauga East Photographer: Sweet Twin Cake Smash
It's been a busy year for this family I met last year for their newborn shoot. They were an absolute dream on their newborn session (see some pics below). And I was so excited to see them once again to celebrate their special day coming up soon! Twin life is wild. Diaper changes and feedings, sleep cycles and crawling babies getting into everything while you just try to wash some bottles! They are "double the trouble" but also DOUBLE the fun! Aren't they so sweet? Belly slide in the cake Two in a tub Bath time gets the smiles Bath time fun Happy Family! In case you were interested... here are some pics from their newborn session.
- Toronto West / Mississauga East Photographer: Maternity at Mint Room
For me, pregnancy was such a special time, despite the morning sickness, I never felt more beautiful! I know not everyone feels this way even from pregnancy to pregnancy, but I do feel it's important to capture the mother (and partner if in the picture) at this special time when life and a whole new little world is growing, just waiting to arrive! And a maternity session is the best way to do this. For this couple, this Dominican-born mama told me that her mother had no pictures of her pregnancy with her, so having some special photos an important way to capture the love, connection with each other and the baby. Cannot wait to meet you little one!
- Toronto West / Mississauga East Cake Smash Photographer: From Belly to Birthday
I love working with families from belly to birthday and beyond--watching them grow and become their own little people... and eventually big people! It's truly one of the best parts of this job. I met mom and dad virtually during Covid but we weren't able to do a session together... I was excited to actually meet them in person for fall maternity photos over a year ago in Fall 2022. Baby brother arrived in the New Year 2024 and I was able to capture their sweet little family of four. Big brother was so proud to be a brother and ever so loving. He's got to be the most easy-going picture-loving two year old! Flash forward one year... New Years 2025!! Birthday boy is ONE!!! Look at those smiles! He was loving getting messy and splashing around in the tub. What a way to celebrate baby boy turning ONE in the New Year like a New Year's themed cake smash.
- Toronto baby and family photographer: travelling to Newfoundland
So those who really know me, know that I love to travel and it was actually my love of travelling with my children and capturing them along the way that spurred my passion for photography. This started when my son was 4 months old when we travelled from Vancouver to England. From time to time, along with posting baby and family content, I will also post a few photos of our past travels from the archives. Here are some photos from some travels in 2014 to Newfoundland. We will be back there this fall! Cannot wait to re-experience the beauty 11 years later. In 2025 it feels like the perfect time to really look within Canada at the most beautiful landscapes it provides from coast to coast. There is such an immense and diverse landscape to explore. Here's just a small snapshot of the north eastern coast of Newfoundland--Port Rexton to Bonavista. If you need advice on travelling to Newfoundland or travelling with your babies or children, we've done it time and time again! Yes, it can be busy, and a lot of work but in my experience it is ALWAYS worth it. Lonely little house in the valley Little fishing boat in the early evening Yellow house in the early evening The coastline in the fall in Port Rexton House on the cape Building on the water Quilt blowing in the wind Ocean coastline Bonavista Lighthouse Partridge berries in the fall My husband with our children hiking along the coastline in Port Rexton Watching the big waves The driveway edged in partridge berries Field of partridge berries Fisher's Loft gardens View from the gardens at Fisher's Loft The Newfoundland coastline is rough and rugged, the people are so welcoming and friendly and the food is delicious.
- Changing careers: from Vancouver teacher to stay-at-home mom to Toronto baby photographer
I’m Stephanie, the owner and photographer of Magnolia Coasts Photography. I am a mama of two energetic kids who have are turned 13 and 11 and a fluffy white pup that just turned 4. They are everything to me and one the reasons I quit my day job and started photography! I used to be a teacher, but after a big push from my supportive husband and close friends, I launched a new career in something I was passionate about. I decided after my son was born that I wanted more flexibility, the ability to travel and less stress in my life. I fell in love with photography while travelling with my babies, documenting each milestone. You can find my old blog from our travels here: http://magnoliacoasts.blogspot.com/p/about-us_14.html In January 2015 I held my first client baby who fell asleep in my arms and was the best baby model I could ask for. He had the SAME name as my son and the SAME birthday as my daughter. It was written in the stars that this was meant to be. Over the past 10 years I have held and photographed 1000s of babies, taken many courses in newborn photography, and quickly became a baby whisperer and trusted expert newborn photographer in the Toronto and Mississauga area.
