Toronto West / Mississauga East Photographer | A Picnic for Two on Toronto Island | An Engagement Sh

A couple of weeks ago, Melanie contacted me looking for an engagement shoot. I photograph couples all the time, but encouraged her to seek out a wedding photographer, someone they could get to know and get comfortable with before the wedding so the day of the photographer would know them, know their likes/dislikes, best angles and so on. But when she told me they would be returning to and getting married in Ireland, there was a whole series of exchanges between us and several uncanny coincidences and I knew I just had to meet them and take some photos of them.

On this warm November Sunday, we took a ferry together to Ward Island, part of the Toronto Islands to have a picnic and capture some moments between these two. James and Melanie are so lovely and clearly meant to be together--having been dating eight years already. It was so easy spending time with them and their love, connection and respect for each other was quite evident. They brought along their dog-baby, Ruby, who is the light of their lives and I was happy to capture their connection not only with each other, but with their dog as well.
